What did Rob and Michele Reiner’s children say?
The pair of children released a statement on the news, noting that they are grateful to the outpouring of support in the midst of the tragic situation.
“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day,” the siblings said in a statement shared with PEOPLE. “The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”
“We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life,” the statement continues. “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”
Jake and Romy’s brother, Nick Reiner, has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, and is accused of killing both Rob and Michele sometime during the early morning hours of December 14, 2025. The pair were discovered by Romy after being called to do a check by her father’s massage therapist.
Nick Reiner was arrested several hours after both Rob and Michele were found. He is currently being held in custody without bail. Should he be convicted of the killings, Reiner could face life in prison.
