WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — The man accused of murdering a 17-year-old girl in Waterbury last month appeared in court on Monday.
Shamar Atwater, 40, was arrested last week at his home in Watertown. He was charged with allegedly murdering Carizma Fox in the early hours of July 11.
The court acknowledged Atwater’s lengthy history of felonies and are calling for a “strong case” against him.
Fox’s family was in the courtroom Monday, saying that they are still trying to process how their loved one’s life was taken so quickly.
