Dead body found in Connecticut River in Rocky Hill

ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH) — Ferry Park in Rocky Hill was closed on Sunday after a body was found in the Connecticut River according to the Rocky Hill Police Department.

Officials responded at 8:53 a.m. when they received a call of a body in the water near the shoreline south of Ferry Park.

Responding officials confirmed the body was deceased, and the Chief Medical Examiner was notified.

The identity of the individual is unknown at this time.

The cause of death is pending an investigation.

Mutual assistance was provided by Middletown and Portland first responders.
