LITCHFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — A jury on Friday found a Litchfield attorney guilty of manslaughter in a 2021 fatal shooting.
Robert L. Fisher Jr., 78, of Goshen, was found guilty of manslaughter in the first degree.
Fisher, who is an attorney in Litchfield, was allegedly punched several times by an individual while he was seated in his car in the parking lot of his law office on June 7, 2021, according to evidence presented at trial.
According to evidence presented in the trial, the individual was leaving the scene, and Fisher exited his car, showing a legal handgun and confronted the individual as he returned to his vehicle.
Fisher shot the individual once in the head at a close distance and called 911 to report the shooting, according to eyewitness testimony and other evidence.
The sentencing is scheduled for June 10, 2025, at Superior Court in Torrington.
