4 taken into custody after Meriden shooting
MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Four people were taken into custody, and three illegal firearms recovered, after a shooting Monday afternoon in Meriden that left one person wounded.
Police found shell casings after the 2:15 p.m. shooting on Crown Street. Fifteen minutes later, a person arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.
The suspect vehicle was found at 3:15 p.m. on Orange Street. While trying to escape police, it took off, hit a police cruiser and then became disabled. Four people ran away from the vehicle, and were all taken into custody. Their names and charges have not yet been announced.
Three of the people had guns, according to police, who noted that officers knew some of them from prior firearm-related cases.
One gun was stolen, the third was a ghost gun and the third had an obliterated serial number. Two had extended magazines.
