The Samsung Galaxy S26 series smartphones, expected to go official in January 2026, will feature displays that won’t be brighter than those of their predecessors.
The word comes from reliable tipster UniverseIce, who said that the peak brightness of the Galaxy S26 series is 2,600 nits – the same as the Galaxy S25 lineup. If true, that’s not a cool move by Samsung since we have some Chinese flagships in the market that are much brighter.

As for the display material, the tipster said they are “basically sure” Samsung will adopt the M14 material, but it’s unclear whether the display will support 10-bit color and PWM high-frequency dimming.

The Galaxy S26 lineup is rumored to consist of the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Ultra model will get a wired charging boost, up from 45W to 60W, while wireless charging will be 25W. That’s 10W faster than the S25 Ultra.

The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are also rumored to get faster wireless charging – up from 15W to 20W. That’s not a big jump, so it remains to be seen how much of a difference it will make in real-world usage.
