8 arrested, including man accused of sexually assaulting 11-year-old, following sweep in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — Eight people, including a man accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old family member, were arrested Wednesday following a domestic violence investigation in Bridgeport, police said.

The investigation, code-named ” Operation Purple Shield,” targeted people in the city with domestic violence arrest warrants.

The following people were arrested.

Patrick Curry, 44, was accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old family member and was charged with first-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and sexual contact with a person under 16. His bond was set at $200,000.

Tyrese Dennis was charged with second-degree harassment and criminal violation of a restraining order. His bond was set at $25,000.

Jose Flores-Viano was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree assault. His bond was set at $500.

Tiago Amorim-Deferias was charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief. His bond was set at $50,000.

Tymithy Jenkins was charged with criminal violation of a restraining order and bond was set at $30,000.

John Holleran was charged with second-degree breach of peace and second-degree reckless endangerment. He was released on a promise to appear.

Teneisha Fischer-Morris was charged with interfering with an officer and disorderly conduct. She was released on a promise to appear.

Brionna Bland was charged with the following:

  • Third-degree assault
  • Second degree unlawful restraint
  • Second-degree reckless endangerment
  • Second-degree breach of peace
  • Second-degree criminal mischief

Her bond was set at $100,000.

Those arrested were set to appear in court later on Wednesday.

The operation was conducted by the department’s Domestic Violence Unit and Warrant Squad with assistance from the Detective Bureau and Patrol Division.
