Garage a total loss in Thursday morning fire

A garage in northwest Austin has been lost to a fire early this morning.
According to Fire Chief Jim McCoy, the Austin Fire Department responded to a report of the fire at around 12:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived in the 500 block of 18th Street NW they found a single-car, detached garage completely engulfed in flames.
There were no injuries, but the garage was a complete loss. There was also minor damage to the house and a car parked in the driveway.
McCoy said there was no estimate available this morning and that the State Fire Marshall will be on scene to investigate the fire’s cause.
