Red Cross assisting four families after East Haven residential building fire

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The American Red Cross in Connecticut is assisting four families after an early morning fire in East Haven on Friday resulted in extensive damage to a residential building.
According to the East Haven fire chief, a bedroom fire had been extinguished by sprinklers on the sixth floor. There was extensive water damage that ran from the sixth to the first floor, and some occupants were relocated to a hotel.
No injuries were reported during the incident. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
