Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) has announced that the clinics in the Austin and Albert Lea Hy-Vee stores will be closing at the end of July.
In a press release, MCHS said the lease agreement between MCHS and Hy-Vee for the Express Care locations within the grocery stores will conclude on July 31. The last day of patient care activity at these locations will be July 27.
“We are dedicated to providing the best care to our patients,” said Robert Albright Jr., D.O., regional physician lead, Mayo Clinic Health System Southeast Minnesota. “We continuously evaluate our services to ensure we are meeting the evolving needs of our patients. This decision was made after carefully considering long-term needs and the value of integrating these locations into our on-site MCHS Austin and Albert Lea clinical practices. We are grateful for our collaborations with Hy-Vee over the years, and we appreciate their ongoing support throughout our communities.”
MCHS staff at these sites will transition to on-site roles at MCHS locations in Austin and Albert Lea, helping to expand patient access and strengthen staffing plans.
Patients who have utilized the Express Care clinics will continue to have access to care at MCHS, including:
- Scheduling Appointments with Your Primary Care Clinician: Schedule regular appointments with your primary care clinician at MCHS Austin and Albert Lea campuses for ongoing care and preventive services via the patient portal or by calling 507-433-8758 (Austin) or 507-668-2121 (Albert Lea).
- Primary Care On Demand: A convenient care option that allows you to virtually connect with a primary care clinician — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year — from the comfort of your home. Visit the Primary Care On Demand website to learn more and for instructions on downloading the app.
The release noted that MCHS is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for patients and staff.
