New Haven pharmacy ordered to pay $192K for violating Controlled Substances Act


NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Haven pharmacy has agreed to pay $192,000 to resolved allegations of violating the Controlled Substances Act on Thursday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Community Health Pharmacy, located on Dixwell Avenue has entered into an agreement with the federal government.

Officials said that between Jan. 1, 2022 and May 14, 2024, Community Health Pharmacy failed to maintain complete and accurate records of controlled substances being received and distributed.

The pharmacy failed to perform biennial inventory, failed to execute power of attorney and allowed an unauthorized person to sign DEA order forms at least eight times, according to the federal government’s allegations.

Community Health Pharmacy agreed to enter into a three-year Memorandum of Agreement with the DEA to ensure future compliance with the CSA and its regulations.
