Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet Joins Dexter: Resurrection Cast, Role Revealed

Modern Family actor Eric Stonestreet has joined Dexter: Resurrection for what is said to be a major role, becoming the latest familiar name to board the Showtime sequel series.
According to Deadline, Stonestreet will appear in a high-profile guest-starring arc. He’ll play Al. The character shares Stonestreet’s Midwestern background and he’s believed to be a serial killer. The actor, who won two Emmys for his portrayal of Cam in the ABC sitcom Modern Family, is the latest well-known performer that’s reportedly playing a serial killer opposite franchise lead Michael C. Hall.
Who joins Eric Stonestreet in the Dexter: Resurrection cast?
The first of the big names to be confirmed for Dexter: Resurrection is Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill star Uma Thurman. The Oscar nominee is set to play Charley, the Head of Security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater. Charley is a former Special Ops officer and she’s worked for several high-level private security jobs before landing on her gig with Leon. As for Leon, he’ll be played by Game of Thrones alum Peter Dinklage.
Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones, Breaking Bad) and Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, Gone Girl) will reportedly play serial killers. Ritter has the recurring role of Mia Lapierre, a renowned sommelier that also hides a dark secret. Harris, meanwhile, will play Lowell. His character details are under wraps.
The cast also includes David Zayas, who recently starred in the prequel Dexter: New Blood, in addition to James Remar, Jack Alcott, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and Emilia Suárez.
Dexter: Resurrection, which has been filming since January, does not currently have a release date. It hails from executive producer Clyde Phillips, who also serves as showrunner on the sequel series. Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns also executive produce, with Marcos Siega serving as producing director. Siega and Monica Raymund will each direct episodes. Dexter: Resurrection is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
