Enfield man sentenced to 25 years for child sexual abuse crimes

ENFIELD, Conn. (WNTH) — An Enfield man was sentenced to 25 years in prison and 10 years of supervised release for having and making child sexual abuse videos and images.
This comes after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber tip on May 20, 2023, of reports from Google and WhatsApp that accounts connected to Katrell Johnson, 35, were being used to upload content that depicted child sexual abuse, according to information presented in court.
Police searched two of Jonhson’s Google accounts, which revealed 1,500 child sex abuse images and videos, which included images of two children he had abused as well, according to information presented in court.
Johnson has been detained since July 13, 2023, and on Feb. 14, 2024, he pleaded guilty to two counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
