Police investigate bomb threat made at Rep. Jahana Hayes' home
WOLCOTT, Conn. (WTNH) — Officials are investigating after a bomb threat was made via email at Rep. Jahana Hayes’ home on Thursday morning.
At around 7:45 a.m., officials received a threatening email stating that a pipe bomb had been placed in Rep. Hayes’ mailbox, according to a statement Hayes released on social media.
State police and Wolcott police said no bomb or explosive materials were discovered and the scene was cleared.
“On This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for my family and loved ones. I plan to spend my day with them,” Rep. Hayes said in a written statement.
The investigation is ongoing.
