Comfy with a hit-or-miss thundershower today
We were treated to TWO celestial events last night–the northern lights and the Perseid meteor shower! Some people were lucky enough to capture both in one photo! This picture was taken by Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons in Madison!
A nice, comfortable start to the week! A few clouds will mix in with the sunshine with highs near 80°. There is a chance of a hit-or-miss thundershower, but many of us will stay dry. Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry with highs in the low to mid 80s.
More trouble in the tropics. We are watching Potential Tropical Cyclone FIVE, which could become Tropical Storm Ernesto over the next 24 hours. This disturbance will move over the Lesser Antilles, then turn north towards Puerto Rico. Once it gets north of PR, it could strengthen into a hurricane.
This Afternoon: A few clouds with a pop up thundershower possible. Highs near 80°.
Tonight: Open the windows and get some fresh air! Mainly clear with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny with highs in the low 80s.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the low to mid 80s.
Thursday: Scattered clouds with a chance of isolated thundershowers. Highs in the low to mid 80s.
Friday: A few clouds with highs in the low to mid 80s.
Saturday: Dry to start, then a chance of showers/storms late. Highs around 80°.
Sunday and Monday: Chance of showers/storms. Highs near 80°.
