Man with knife robs pizza restaurant in New Haven
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Haven pizza restaurant was robbed of cash Friday afternoon by a man who appeared to be armed with a knife, said police.
At 1:30 p.m., a man entered the Dayton Street Apizza located at 60 Dayton St. asking to use the bathroom. Shortly after, he demanded money from an employee while holding “a knife wrapped in a bag,” said responding officers. However, the suspect did not display the weapon.
The suspect obtained an unspecified amount of cash from the register and fled the restaurant on foot without hurting anyone.
Police describe the suspect as a heavyset white male with blond hair. He stands around five feet, ten inches tall.
