The unidentified guard was injured but he’s expected to recover, according to the Fresno Bee news outlet. Police didn’t detail his injuries.

The suspect attempted to enter the cardroom before the guard stopped him. A shoving match ensued and, when the suspect attempted to leave the property, he was apprehended by the guard.

That’s when the suspect assaulted the guard with the unspecified metal object.

The unnamed suspect was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked and the case was turned over to local prosecutors.

Club One Casino is a cardroom with 51 table games, a restaurant, and three bars.

$20K Seized in Colorado Gambling Raids

Eleven suspects were given citations for illicit gaming, according to Colorado TV station KOAA. The charges include: engaging in gambling, possession of a gambling device, gambling premise, and electronic gambling.

The gambling joints were found at four locations identified as 320 West Northern Avenue, 1103 North Elizabeth Street, 1722 South Prairie Avenue, and 303 East Northern Avenue.

The searches took place after police investigated suspicious activity at the locations. The arrests follow the enactment of a new gambling ordinance that was approved in May by the Pueblo City Council.

Bandit Fails in Attempted Macau Casino Robbery

A 53-year-old suspect was recently arrested after he demanded cash from a Macau casino employee in a botched holdup.

The suspect walked into a casino cashier’s office and claimed to have a bomb in a plastic bag, which he placed on a counter. The robber then ordered the employee to turn over HKD 2M (US $256,26700).

The employee notified security guards who quickly apprehended him.

The item in the bag was a power bank typically used to charge cell phones.

As police investigated the crime, it turned out the robber had lost money at the casino while gambling years ago, Macau Business reported. He apparently wanted revenge for the prior loss on the casino floor.

No one was seriously injured during the holdup attempt. A security guard suffered minor injuries during a confrontation with the suspect. The casino wasn’t named in local news reports.
