A stormy start but a sunny finish on this Saturday!
Happy Weekend!
Unfortunately, a pesky stationary front is draped across Southern New England and the East Coast. This means we will see passing downpours and thunderstorms through early afternoon today. A FLOOD WATCH has been issued for most of the state as some spots could pick up 1″ to 2″+. It’s just a matter of where the heaviest rain sets up causing local street, highway, and urban flooding. We are cautiously optimistic that late this afternoon/evening will be mostly rain-free although there could be a pop late evening storm in a few towns. Should not cause issues for local firework displays.
Sunday will feature lots of sunshine, but sweaty with highs in the low 90s. The pick of the weekend for sure with a very summer-like vibe. Great for the beach, pool, or boating.
Sweltering heat through midweek next week with some storm chances as well, but there are a lot of signals pointing towards a cooler and less humid pattern which may take shape later next week and continue into the weekend.
