Burlington woman who hid husband’s body in her basement pleads guilty to manslaughter

BURLINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A 76-year-old Burlington woman accused of hiding her husband’s body in her basement for months and cashing his paychecks has pleaded guilty to manslaughter, according to an announcement on Monday.

Linda Kosuda-Bigazzi pleaded guilty in connection to the 2017 death of 84-year-old Pierluigi Bigazzi, who was found dead in the basement after police responded to a welfare call from his employer. He worked for UConn Health as a professor.

Police estimate that he died in July 2017. His body wasn’t found until the following February. During that time, $46,000 was deposited into the couple’s joint checking account.

Kosuda-Bigazzi, who pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and first-degree larceny, will be sentenced on June 28.
