Clouds return today & a weak system tonight

As the calendar has flipped to February, we can finally look forward to many days in a row with sunshine. Thursday was the 10th day in a row cloudy across Connecticut. Cloudy with passing rain showers tonight. Some towns in northern CT. will see some wet snowflakes or sleet mix in, but we aren’t looking at any travel troubles. Friday is Groundhog Day, and while we may not be as furry or cute, meteorologists are a tad more accurate! It’ll be rather cloudy in Punxsutawny, PA Friday morning, so TECHNICALLY, Phil should NOT see his shadow….but who knows! Here in CT, we will have some spotty showers to start Friday, then a drier afternoon with still a cloudy sky and highs in the low to mid-40s. Finally, we will see ABUNDANT SUNSHINE AND BLUE SKY this weekend and for the first half of next week too!!!

Tonight: Cloudy with light rain showers, mixing with wet snow or sleet in some higher elevation towns. Lows in the low to mid 30s.

Friday/Groundhog Day: Spotty showers to start, then drier in the afternoon. Highs in the low to mid 40s.

Saturday and Sunday: Back under the sunshine! Seasonably chilly, highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Monday: Sunshine with highs in the upper 30s, near 40°.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 30s/40 degrees.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Highs 40-45.

Thursday: Partly sunny, pleasant with highs 45-50!
